Marks described as Nr. 699 (legend year 1736) and later Nr. 701. Pieces dated 1764, 1765, and 1772 carry his mark alone. Quality marks such as a crowned F appear on some described objects. Dual-marking with his son’s Nr. 698 together with Nr. 701 is recorded, especially on Schützengaben.\n\nProbable (Bossard’s suggestion, not restated as fact here): the 1736 on mark 699 may mark the start of mastership. Do not read this sheet as “verified master 1736.”\n\nJudgment (Bossard’s, not Vayati assay): among the most frequent and finest pewterers around Lake Geneva; Vevey/Utin output pressed the Lausanne trade.\n\nNegative space: Bossard gives no street or house workshop address for the Utins (unlike a later Moriggi note in the same volume).\n\nLifespan tension: this Echo previously carried 1688–1771; Bossard cites a 1772 dated piece.
